Martha’s Sunset This is Negril, Jamaica, a place shared by the artist and his better-half. Negril is a small, widely dispersed beach resort and town known for its white sand beaches located at the far western part of Jamaica, about 50 miles southwest from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. The name Negril is a shortened version of Negrillo (Spanish: Little black one), as it was originally named by the Spaniards in 1494. Peacefulness at close of each day allows one to experience the "beauty in detail" of each sunset; the artist was inspired to paint this view encouraged by his wife.
